About This Tool

How to Use
  1. Choose a video file (MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV)
  2. Pick a mode: a quality preset, a target size in MB, or a custom bitrate
  3. Optional: lower the resolution or frame rate, remove the audio, or trim the clip
  4. Press Compress video, check the preview, then download the result
Common Use Cases
  • Getting a clip under the 25 MB limit of email or chat apps
  • Making a phone video smaller before you share it
  • Making a screen recording smaller for a bug report
  • Taking the audio out of a video to cut its size
Tips & Tricks
  • Everything runs on your device. Nothing is uploaded
  • Resolution names use the short side, so 720p also works for upright phone videos
  • The size you ask for is a goal. If the result is above it, use the button to try again at a lower bitrate
  • A video that is already small can come out bigger. The tool tells you when that happens
  • In Chrome and Edge, very large results are saved straight to a file you choose
  • Compressing is slower on long or high resolution videos. You can cancel at any time
