New: PDF Editor, Image Resizer, Video Compressor and Video to MP3
We added four tools that people search for every day: a PDF editor, an image resizer, a video compressor and a video to MP3 converter. Most sites that do these jobs upload your file to their server. Ours do the work on your own device, so your contracts, photos and videos stay with you.
All four tools are free, need no account and add no watermark.
PDF Editor
The PDF Editor lets you change a PDF without installing anything.
- Add text, images, shapes and freehand drawings.
- Sign a document. Draw, type or upload your signature, and tick Remember to keep it on this device for next time.
- Fill in PDF forms: text fields, check boxes, radio buttons and lists. If the result must not be edited again, tick Flatten.
- Rotate, delete and move pages.
- Undo and redo every step.
Text that you add is real text in the saved file, so you can still select it and search it. Russian and Greek text is saved with the Noto Sans font. Scripts such as Chinese, and emoji, are saved as a picture. When that happens, the editor tells you.
One thing to know: white-out hides what is under it on the page, but the old text can still be inside the file. For private data, print the result to a new PDF.
Image Resizer & Cropper
The Image Resizer & Cropper changes the size of one image or a whole batch.
- Resize by pixels, by percent, to fit a box, or to a target file size such as 100 KB.
- Crop freely or to a fixed shape such as 1:1 or 16:9, then rotate and flip.
- Save as JPEG, PNG or WebP, and download a batch as one ZIP file.
The target file size is useful for upload forms with a limit. The tool lowers the quality first. Only when that is not enough, it makes the image smaller. It counts 1 KB as 1,000 bytes, so the file also passes strict forms. Phone photos come out the right way up.
Video Compressor
The Video Compressor makes a video file smaller, for example to send it by email or chat.
- Pick a preset (High, Medium or Small), or enter the size you want in MB.
- Lower the resolution, for example to 720p, and cap the frame rate.
- See the expected size before you start, and cancel at any time.
The tool uses WebCodecs, the video encoder that is built into your browser, so it works fast and without a download. Upright phone videos stay upright. If a video is already well compressed, the tool tells you instead of giving you a bigger file.
Video to MP3
The Video to MP3 Converter takes the sound out of a video.
- Convert many files at once, and download them as one ZIP file.
- Choose MP3, M4A, WAV or OGG, and pick the bitrate.
- Trim to the part you want, to the hundredth of a second.
If the sound in the file is already MP3, the tool copies it, so you lose no quality.
Which browser to use
All four tools work best in a recent version of Chrome or Edge on a computer. The video tools need WebCodecs, which recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari include. Firefox cannot make M4A (AAC) audio, so in Firefox the converter offers the other formats instead.
Try them and tell us what you think. More tools are on the way.
